This Privacy Policy for Mobile Banking Services supplements the Bank of South Texas Privacy Policy and applies specifically to the Bank of South Texas Mobile application (the “Mobile App”).
The Mobile App is powered by TouchBanking, a service provided by Fiserv, Inc., and is offered on behalf of Bank of South Texas.
This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is accessed, collected, used, and disclosed in connection with your use of the Mobile App, in compliance with applicable financial privacy laws and Google Play Developer Program Policies.
Information We Collect
When you use the Mobile App, we and our service providers may collect information in the following ways:
(A) Personal Information You or Your Financial Institution Provide
We may collect personal information from you or from Bank of South Texas in connection with your use of mobile banking services, including:
- First and last name
- Address
- Email address
- User IDs
- Telephone number
- Social Security number
- Account numbers
- Payment card expiration date
- Payment card identification and verification numbers
- Transaction and payment history
When using certain features:
- Device images or videos may be accessed when you deposit a check using mobile deposit functionality or use QR code payment functionality.
- Device contacts may be accessed when you make peer-to-peer payments (such as Zelle® or other payments functionality).
- Device location may be accessed to detect and prevent card transaction fraud, deposit fraud, and to provide branch and ATM locations.
We may also collect information you voluntarily provide when you contact us for support.
(B) Personal Information Collected from Third Parties
We may collect certain information from:
- Identity verification services
- Consumer reporting agencies, including credit bureaus
when necessary to provide Mobile App services.
(C) Personal Information Collected Via Technology
When you use the Mobile App, we and our service providers may automatically log information about your mobile device and usage.
Device Data
This may include:
- Operating system type and version
- Manufacturer and model
- Browser type
- Screen resolution
- RAM and disk size
- CPU usage
- Device type (e.g., phone, tablet)
- IP address
- Unique identifiers
- Language settings
- Mobile device carrier
- Radio/network information (e.g., WiFi, LTE, 3G)
- General location information such as city, state, or geographic area
This information is used for:
- Service functionality

- Fraud detection

Location Information (Specific Disclosure)
If you have enabled location services on your mobile device and agree to the collection of your location when prompted by the Mobile App, we will collect your location information when you use the Mobile App.

- Detect and prevent card transaction fraud
- Detect and prevent deposit fraud
- Provide branch and ATM location services
If you do not want us to collect your location information, you may:
- Decline the collection when prompted; or

Please note that if you withdraw consent to the collection of location information, you may no longer be able to use certain features of the Mobile App.
This disclosure is provided to comprehensively disclose the access and collection of Location along with its usage in compliance with Google Play requirements.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information
We may disclose personal information collected through the Mobile App as follows:
(a) At the Direction of Bank of South Texas
Information may be shared with Bank of South Texas or with third parties at the direction of Bank of South Texas.
(b) Third-Party Service Providers
We may share personal information with third-party or affiliated service providers that perform services on our behalf, including:
- Providing mobile banking services
- Quality assurance testing
- Facilitating account creation
- Optimizing performance
- Providing technical support
(c) Corporate Restructuring
Information may be disclosed in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, dissolution, or similar transaction.
(d) Authorities and Others
We may disclose personal information to law enforcement, government authorities, or private parties for compliance and protection purposes.
Links to Other Sites
The Mobile App may contain links to third-party websites. These sites operate independently, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them.
Your Choices Regarding Your Information
Do Not Track
Some web browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is currently no uniform standard governing such signals, and we do not take action in response to them at this time.
Access, Update, or Correct Information
You may access, update, or correct your information by contacting Bank of South Texas.
SMS Communications
If you provide your phone number, we may send notifications by SMS (such as fraud alerts). You may opt out by unlinking your mobile phone number through the Mobile App.
Opting Out of Location Tracking
If you initially consented to geo-location collection, you may stop collection at any time by adjusting your device settings.
Safeguards and Retention
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information.
Federal laws require retention of certain records. Personal and financial data may be retained for five to ten years depending on applicable laws and business needs.
A Note About Children
The Mobile App is not directed toward individuals under 18. We do not intentionally gather personal information from individuals under 18.
Privacy Notice Updates
This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. Material changes will be posted within the Mobile App or on our website. Continued use constitutes acknowledgment of changes.
